Nonprofit:

Kauaʻi Native Plant Society is a committee of Garden Island Resource Conservation & Development, Inc., a Kauaʻi based 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.

Environmental:

We at KNPS understand the importance of the native plants of Hawaiʻi to our Island’s unique biodiversity and to the native Hawaiian culture. KNPS encourages our community, including the landscape industry, to embrace the use of native flora in public and private spaces on Kauaʻi.

Service, Education, Fun:

We plant native species in public places, clear invasive species to promote the growth of native plants, collect seeds to distribute to the public at events such as Garden Fair and Arbor Day, take hikes to view native plants in the wild, and promote educational activities for our members and the public.

Community Cooperation:

We volunteer with our community partners to support opportunities for the community to be involved in caring for our island home. As an ʻohana of native plant enthusiasts we preserve, protect, and perpetuate Hawaii’s unique plant species.
